3 Simple tools when feeling stressed during study or exam time
Feeling stressed or stuck? Try these quick tools to reset your body and mind in just a few minutes.
These short practices – Belly Breathing, Breath of Joy, and Seated Spinal Flow – are simple ways to calm your body and clear your mind when stress hits. Each one helps you reset your energy, release tension, and find your focus again. You can use them anytime – before a study session, during a break, or even right before an exam – to feel more grounded and in control.
Belly Breath is a foundational breathing technique that helps slow your breathing down to signal your nervous system that it is safe to feel calm. It can be done anywhere anytime. With slow deep inhalations we fill up the lungs to capacity, getting more oxygen into the body and the brain. The slow exhalation signals the body to relax and calm.
Belly Breathing
This is a more dynamic breathing exercise, great for times when you’ve been studying and sitting for a while. It energises the body and mind and releases tension and stress.
Breath of Joy
This short movement practice is great for a quick break, when sitting on the desk for a long time or whenever you feel the need to move and stretch. It helps release tension in the body, particularly in the shoulders and chest. And gets the blood and oxygen flowing. It can also be done sitting in a chair
Short Seated Flow (Spinal Movement)
