Out of Rhythm? You’re Not Alone

Hi lovely,

Have you ever felt out of rhythm?
Like when you’ve had a good routine going — maybe running, the gym, or your yoga practice — and then, there was a holiday or sickness or an event that pulled you out of your flow and the routine went out the window?

I’m almost certain you’ve been there. I have too.

The last few weeks have been very full for me — mostly self-inflicted! And now, I find myself craving quieter days and the comfort of a steady routine. But getting back into rhythm? It’s not always easy.

I’ve been feeling tired and a bit “behind with everything.” Even getting onto my mat feels like a challenge. The thought of doing an hour-long practice is overwhelming — even though I know I’ll feel better afterwards. But sometimes that thought alone can stop me from moving at all.

Sound familiar?

When Time and Energy Are Short

So, what can we do when things feel heavy and our energy is low?

I’ve been reminding myself to just start small.
A few minutes is enough.

Because five minutes daily is better than one hour every now and then, right? Yes!

Some days I just rest in one restorative pose at the end of the day or I practice a short yoga Nidra during the day. Other mornings I sneak in a slow breath and movement practice before the kids wake up — and I always feel better afterwards.

When I shared this reflection in my last newsletter, I had the idea to create something simple — something to help both myself and others find that rhythm again. This is how May Morning Movement came into the world.

Introducing: May Morning Movement

This is a free online offering — a short, relaxed morning practice with slow movement, breathwork and stillness. It’s not a class, it’s an invitation to move together and begin your day in a way that feels steady and supportive.

Come as you are — pj’s, bed hair, kids beside you or joining in (they always seem to wake up early when we try to carve out time for ourselves, don’t they?).

If you’re feeling out of rhythm and ready to ease back into practice, this might be for you.
We’re practicing together weekday mornings for the rest of May — and you’re welcome to join anytime.

I’d love to practice with you.
